When Should You book your newborn session?

The best time to photograph a newborn baby is when they are under two weeks of age. Ideally from 5 to 14 days old. After two weeks babies are a little harder to settle and things like colic and baby acne can start to flare up. It is best that you contact me during your pregnancy and give me an estimated due date to schedule your tentative booking.  Once home from hospital with your brand new baby, you can contact me to arrange a suitable day and time for your photo session.

How do I book a photo session?

You can book your photo session over the phone, email or in person during your Pre-Session Consultation.  To have your date secured you need to process the session fee that serves as a booking fee as well. Please check our Pricing Page for session fee information. Please note that session fee is NON-REFUNDABLE and DOES NOT INCLUDE ANY DIGITAL IMAGES OR PRODUCTS.  Digital images, products and prints are purchased separately.

What does my session fee cover?

Your session fee covers the Booking Fee, Pre-Session Consultation, Photo Session, use of all Newborn Props and Outfits, Maternity Gowns, Sitter and Milestone Props, Reveal/Ordering Appointment and delivery appointment.

Where is the session held?

Unless agreed upon otherwise and depending on the type of session, your newborn photo session will take place in my home studio located in Pittsburg, CA. Please keep in mind that for safety reasons only a newborn baby / babies and parents are allowed in my studio (maximum 2 adults).  Street parking is available for your convenience. If needed, I do travel to clients homes all around the the San Francisco Bay Area for in-home sessions, just ask me about it!

How long will the session take?

Normally a newborn photo session lasts from 3 to 4 hours.  This allows plenty of time for feeding and comforting your baby. All other sessions will last up to 2 hours. Sessions are not rushed and if more time is needed and everyone is still cooperating, the session will continue.

Will I have any guidance on what to do before the photo session?

Absolutely! Shortly after booking a photo session with me you will receive your Session Guide and I am more than happy to walk you through and answer any questions you might have.  Before the session you will know exactly what you can do on your part to make sure that your photo session runs smoothly and stress free for you and your family.  Remember, I am here to answer any questions and help you with whatever you might need to create a beautiful stress-free experience for you.  I will walk you through the whole process and I will gladly help you to feed, change and soothe your little one(s) during the photo session. If you are coming in for a newborn session, I know you will probably be sleep deprived after sleepless nights so you can just sit back and relax on my comfortable couch and just watch me do my magic.  My goal is not only to create a tangible art for your home. My goal is also that you as a parent are relaxed and happy throughout the whole process.

Do I need to bring anything with me?

No. I have plenty of props, wraps, outfits and maternity gowns for you to choose from. We will discuss them beforehand so it’s all ready to go on your photo session day.

When can I see my images and order my products?

At the end of the photo session we will schedule a time and date for your Reveal/Ordering appointment. Normally it is scheduled within 2-4 weeks after your Session.  On that day you’ll see your images and will be able to choose your products. Once full payment is received your prints will be ordered.  They can take up to 3-4 weeks for delivery.  As soon as they arrive to my studio you will be notified of that and we’ll coordinate a pick up date.

Will I get to see all the images from the session?

I cull all sessions and depending on the type of session, you will see approximately 50-60 soft edit images for you to choose from and you have the option to purchase one of my packages or images and products A la carte.

Will I receive raw images?

I do not release RAW or unedited images under any circumstances as those images are not a true or final representation of my creativity and art work.
